Dundurn Castle
Dundurn National Historic Site is a Hamilton heritage property at 610 York Boulevard with indoor and outdoor wedding options. The City of Hamilton currently lists the 1870 Coach House/Hayloft for gatherings and receptions, while the Maple Walk and Cockpit provide outdoor ceremony settings on the historic grounds overlooking Burlington Bay.

Weddings photographed at Dundurn Castle
Dundurn Castle makes an immediate impression because the architecture and grounds give you photo opportunities almost everywhere you turn. I especially like the large doorway framed by trees for family photographs and the rear areas where you can bring the building, grounds and lake into the same wedding story.
One of my favourite outdoor spots is a tree-lined pathway leading toward an overlook above the lake. The trees lean inward from both sides and create a natural tunnel, which gives the couple a very different look from the formal castle architecture only a short walk away.
I also remember the rustic indoor event space in the former carriage area, with its heavy exposed wood beams. It feels completely different from the exterior of the castle, and that contrast — formal historic grounds outside and warm timber architecture inside — is what makes Dundurn especially interesting photographically.
