What is the history of Sugarbush Heritage Park?

The park preserves the historic Baker House, which the Baker family relocated in the early twentieth century to a spot near the edge of the sugarbush. The site is also the final resting place of many members of the Baker family, and it is sometimes known as Baker's Woods.

What features and trails does the park have?

Sugarbush Heritage Park is a wooded City of Vaughan park with the Baker Sugarbush Woodlot Trail — a 2.4 km unpaved, unlit walking trail — plus a playground, a community garden, an off-leash dog area, and resting areas.

Is there parking and are there washrooms?

Yes. The City notes that parking, washroom facilities, and resting areas are available at the park, off Thornhill Woods Drive.

Is the park open during the City's improvements?

The City of Vaughan has been carrying out improvements at Sugarbush Heritage Park (per notices posted through 2025 into 2026). During the work, the Baker House, the Baker Sugarbush Woodlot Trail, the public washroom, and the off-leash dog area have remained open and accessible, with signs and barriers guiding visitors.
