Sara & Rocco

Sara and Rocco’s wedding started as a very traditional day and then quickly turned into one of the most unique weddings I have photographed. One of my favourite parts came after the portraits, when we stopped at a pizzeria in the old Coffee Time location. They had pre-ordered food and reserved several booths for the bridal party, and I joined them. The pizza was incredible — honestly the most authentic Italian pizza I have had since eating pizza in Naples with my kids. It was such an unexpected and memorable break in the middle of a wedding day. There were also custom banners in the foyer and interactive food stations at the reception, including a stir-fry station where guests could have their food made to order. Another personal connection was Rocco’s best man, Joe, who had been one of our grooms years earlier when we photographed his wedding to Justine. And one of my favourite photographs of the entire year came from this wedding: a portrait of Sara and Rocco in Kleinburg outside the old train station. It was one of those locations and moments that came together perfectly.
