A first touch before the wedding ceremony

Time together without seeing each other, with photographs or audio only if you want them.

What it is

A first touch is a planned meeting before the ceremony where a couple can hold hands or speak while remaining out of each other’s sight. It is different from a first look, where the couple see each other.

Where it fits in your day

You might share a few words, read letters, exchange private vows or simply hold hands. None of those additions is required. Decide what you want the meeting to feel like before choosing a location.

Planning photography and video

We can help choose a doorway, corner or other position that preserves the separation you want. Tell us whether you want a few photographs, spoken audio, coverage from a distance or complete privacy.

The details that matter to your family

Allow time to settle into the meeting rather than planning only the photograph. Touch, listening, laughter and the pause afterward can all belong to the experience. Private vows do not need to become public film narration.

Questions for your planning conversation

Do you want to speak or just spend time together? May we record audio? Should any words stay out of the finished film?
